The Glass Canvas

In my "Glass Canvas" series, I use a large, custom-built light table to explore abstract and surrealistic imagery, sculpting common household materials with translucent properties like toilet paper, shaving cream, and body wash. Most elements in this series are disposable by nature and time-sensitive, constantly changing in color, shape, and texture. Given the extreme ephemeral character of the material and that they have no use as an archival art medium, I like the idea that the work can only be captured and preserved through photography.
